A Scotland hospital was forced to implement a lockdown after a nurse showed up to work despite testing positive for the coronavirus, according to a report.
The unidentified nurse was apparently around an hour into their shift before they mentioned their test results to another colleague at a Carstairs hospital, the Daily Record reported.
“It’s disappointing a member of staff came in for a shift having tested positive at home,” a source told the outlet.
The staffer was sent home to self-isolate while an entire ward of the hospital was placed on lockdown, the outlet reported.
“Only essential staff are now allowed in the ward and the patients are understandably upset and anxious,” the source said.
