The Biden campaign quickly restored a list of six-figure donors it had deleted from its website, following backlash from conservative groups as Biden prepares to announce his ambassador nominations.

The Biden team pulled the list of deep-pocketed bundlers who gave at least $100,000 to the former veep’s White House bid and replaced it with a link to their merchandise store in a move that was criticized by conservative political action group America Rising on Tuesday.

Generous donors are often first in line for ambassador roles, with Barack Obama tapping 31 donors who raised at least $50,000 for his second campaign to serve as ambassadors.

The list of 800 individuals was restored on Wednesday, Washington Free Beacon reported.

Biden refused to rule out appointing donors to ambassadorships during the earliest days of his campaign but vowed he would chose the “best people possible” for the posts.

“I’m going to appoint the best people possible,” Biden said in a Nov. 2019 interview on his campaign bus in Iowa

“Nobody, in fact, will be appointed by me based on anything they contributed.”

Reports emerged in December that Disney executive chairman Bob Iger and former Walt Disney Studios chief Jeffrey Katzenberg are both in the mix for ambassadorships.
