For much of the night, the two candidates, especially the president, interrupted and talked over each other while moderator Chris Wallace failed to maintain much control. It was a mess, to be honest.
What wasn’t, however, was Cardi B‘s live commentary, which she recorded from her couch and posted in a series of videos on her Instagram feed.
The rapper is far from new to the politics game. She’s been vocal about issues like immigration and was an avid supporter of Senator Bernie Sanders in both his 2016 and 2020 primary campaigns for president. She’s even filmed public conversations with Sanders about the issues that matter most to them.
Basically, she knows her stuff—and she has the eyes and ears of her 76 million followers. She used her platform to let everyone know just how she felt about the debate in true Cardi style.
Take this moment, for example, when Wallace asks about calling in the National Guard to help handle the protests in Portland, and Biden rightly points out he doesn’t hold public office right now and can’t do that. “I can’t front the moderator been digging on Trump ass,” she wrote in the caption.

“Bitch it’s spicy,” was her caption for a segment in which Trump’s taxes were brought up.
“I thought that was so mean and unnecessary. PLEASE WE GOTTA GO VOTE,” she wrote in her last video of the night, which addressed Trump taking personal shots at Biden’s family multiple times during the debate.
So who’s starting the petition for Cardi B to moderate the next debate? I would really like to see it.
