More players than ever are able to participate in this year’s Pokémon Go Fest, since the event is taking place online due to the coronavirus pandemic.
To participate in Go Fest, you’ll have to buy a ticket from the in-game shop for $14.99. Note that you can only buy this ticket with real money, not with in-game Pokécoins.
Go Fest will take place across two days: July 25 and 26, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. in your local time.
During the event, a series of themed habitats will rotate in and out, allowing you to catch a wide variety of Pokémon that may normally be hard to find. There’ll also be Special Research to complete in exchange for sweet prizes. Based on previous years’ events, it’s very likely that a Mythical Pokémon will be a reward for one of the Special Research Tasks. Note that each day will have a different set of Special Research Tasks.
Even if you can’t dedicate two days to playing Pokémon Go, make sure you log in and each day to at least claim the Special Research Tasks. After you get them, they will not disappear, so you’ll be able to complete them even after Go Fest ends.
Players will also need to be over level 10 to experience Go Fest to its fullest, so make sure to level up. Leveling a fresh account to 10 shouldn’t take too long, as discovering new Pokémon rewards loads of XP.
People participating in the event will also want to make sure to use any Incense they have during the event. They’ll last for an hour each and will be important for increasing the spawn rate around you heavily.
