Jonah Hill‘s long-awaited adidas Originals Superstar collaboration is finally releasing this weekend. The multihyphenate’s link-up with the Three Stripe brand was officially announced in January this year, noting that the duo will be working on two Samba sneakers and one Superstar.
The adidas Originals Superstar in question adopts a chunky skateboarding aesthetic, tapping into Hill’s love for the culture. Hill, who wrote and directed the coming-of-age skate culture film Mid-90s, channels a skateboarding aesthetic with various design elements on the Superstar, such as bold and pronounced Three Stripe branding on the mid-panels, as well as by incorporating thick laces — which have a heritage in the B-Boy scene of the ’80s as well as in skate culture.
Elsewhere around the sneaker, you can find a classic off white shell toe alongside a matching sole unit, scribble-font stitched Superstar branding on the rear-quarter, and a black heel tab that’s stitched to the shoe using white thread. The heel tab also sports bright green “JH” branding.
The Jonah Hill x adidas Originals Superstar is due to release on July 11 at retailers all around the world including 43einhalb. The pair will cost €129.95 EUR (approx. $147 USD). Take a closer look at the pair above.
