Mads Mikkelsen and director Thomas Vinterberg, who previously worked together on Danish drama The Hunt, are reuniting for Another Round.
The film focuses on four friends, all high school teachers, who decide to embark upon an experiment. Upon discovering that a Norwegian philosopher claimed that all humans are born with deficient blood alcohol content, they decide to try maintaining a higher level of alcohol in their blood at all times.
Initially, things seem to go well, but as the experiment progresses, things begin spinning out of control. Based on the trailer, the movie seems to veer between comedy and drama, as the men struggle to iron out their lives. Mikkelsen stars alongside Thomas Bo Larsen, Lars Ranthe, and Magnus Millang.
Another Round was announced Wednesday as part of the Cannes Film Festival’s 2020 lineup. Though the festival will not actually happen this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, its organizers went ahead with announcing what would have been its slate of films, giving each the Official Selection badge.
There is no official release date set for Another Round, though the trailer teases that it’s “coming soon.”
