After his girlfriend of almost 10 years broke up with him over the phone without explanation, then refused to answer his messages, Brian Goedde wanted answers. With pen and paper in hand, he turned to his closest friends and family to ask: “Why do you think Jenna left me?”
On this week’s Modern Love podcast, Hasan Minhaj reads Mr. Goedde’s funny but frequently profound essay, “Researching Jenna, Discovering Myself.”
Mr. Minhaj is a writer, comedian and political commentator. His Peabody Award-winning TV show, “Patriot Act,” is streaming new episodes on Netflix.
Mr. Goedde teaches writing and literature at the Community College of Philadelphia. Stay tuned after the reading to hear more from him, Mr. Minhaj and the Modern Love editor Daniel Jones.
