Sustainable clothing company PANGAIA has teamed up with Takashi Murakami on a collection that marks World Bee Day 2020. The four-piece capsule will launch inline with its Bee the Change Fund in partnership with Milkywire, which aims to protect and preserve vulnerable and endangered bee species across the world.
Murakami’s signature flower bomb and smiling flower designs have been used throughout this capsule, and are now joined by a colorful bee character on each garment. The pieces come in “Cobalt Blue,” “Off White,” “Orchid Purple” and “Saffron Yellow,” complementing the rainbow of hues found on Murakami’s art. On the rear of the T-shirts is a statement about how bees support our ecosystem, while the hoodies are complete with a dual-branded stamp.
PANGAIA’s T-shirts are made from 100% GOTS certified organic cotton that is chemical-free, while its hoodies combine recycled materials into its fabrication. The Takashi Murakami x PANGAIA T-shirts will retail for $95 USD and the hoodies will retail for $190 USD. Take a look at the piece above, and purchase all four styles on PANGAIA’s website on May 20.
