A depraved pair of Brits were busted hauling a suitcase stuffed with a human torso along a forest road, disturbing new reports said.
The two – a woman in her 20s from Birmingham and a man in his 30s from Wolverhampton – were arrested on suspicion of murder after cops in Gloucestershire made the grisly discovery late Tuesday, stopping them as they walked along a road in the Forest of Dean, The Independent reports.
An officer stopped them after becoming suspicious of the man and woman, who had yet to be identified, the outlet reports.
“Shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday 12 May, officers discovered suspected human remains,” Gloucestershire police said in a statement Wednesday. “Cordons are likely to remain in place for the rest of the day while inquiries continue to establish what has taken place and further forensic tests are being carried out on the remains.”
A human torso was discovered inside the suitcase, The Sun reports. Other body parts were found nearby, although cops had yet to confirm those details, the Independent reports.
Nearby residents outside Coleford, meanwhile, said cops told them to expect the area to be shut down Wednesday – and possibly beyond.
“I don’t know what’s going on but they say I can’t even walk along the road,” one resident told Gloucestershire Live. “Somebody said they had found a body and the police say the road will be closed all day.”
Some drivers near ongoing police investigation thought the area was closed down due to COVID-19 lockdown regulations barring people from traveling into Wales, the website reports.
“One of the officers said the road might be closed for a few days, so it must be serious,” another resident said.
