New behind-the-scenes pictures of “The Last Kingdom” Season 4 have been released online. One of the photos is that of Alexander Dreymon as Uhtred, as he prepares to film a battle scene.
Uhtred will have to fight some more bloody battles in the next season, and this time around the fights may be personal. The plot is expected to take the warrior back to his homeland in Bebbanburg and fight his uncle to reclaim his lands.
A new behind-the-scenes picture of the next season teases Dreymon preparing to film a battle scene. The makeup crew can be seen adding some blood stains on his face and neck.
Uhtred will be joined by his loyal followers in his battles. A recently released behind-the-scenes picture shows Dreymon relaxing with Finan actor Mark Rowley. “Can’t help but feel they’re up to no good though!” the Instagram post read.
While the main antagonist in “The Last Kingdom” Season 4 is expected to be Uhtred’s uncle, the fans will also get to see some other familiar villains. Cnut (Magnus Bruun) will be back on the show this year, and a behind-the scenes picture shows the character preparing to go to battle. “The calm before the storm,” Bruun teased in his post.
Most of the filming of the new season took place in Hungary. A picture from the set after the filming of an action sequence shows James Northcote in costume as Aldelm. While Uhtred will be away fighting his private battles, Wessex and Mercia will continue to fight to build England.
Filming of the new season has wrapped, and according to the official Instagram page of the series all the cast and crew members enjoyed their time filming and their days were filled with fun and laughter. One of the fun characters that the fans can expect to see on the show this year is Beocca (Ian Hart).
