Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have disrespected the Queen, according to Twitter users.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced on January that they were stepping back as senior members of the royal family. Just recently, they shared update about the Spring 2020 transition on their official website where they announced that they have removed their trademark application for Sussex Royal. Prince Harry and Markle also stated that they did not intend to use “Sussex Royal” or any iteration of the world “royal” in any territory.
Following their post, several online users shared their thoughts on the royal couple’s actions on Twitter. One felt that they did not respect the Queen for making this move. Another said that the Sussexes were taking themselves too seriously that they had to explain their side about the matter.
“They show no respect towards the Queen and the Monarchy. Their behavior is shambles. The Queen couldn’t do enough to please her and it was never enough. This woman is a narcissist and saw Harry coming,” @SoapsyAndSudsy commented.
“The site name should be changed from sussexroyal to sussexregular,” another opined.
“While other Royal Family members could pursue their own career, none of them were put under review because those weren’t working Royals who stepped down. I think it’s good they do that to Harry and Meghan considering the ways they announced the news and launched their website,” @PamUsa2003 wrote.
Meanwhile, another netizen felt that Prince Harry and Markle only released the statement to clear the wrong reports about the issue.
“This is a clear & sound statement aimed to correct mistruths in the UK rags & RRs supposedly from “palace sources”. All these people commenting have forgotten that at the time Harry’s mother died, she was no longer an HRH, she didn’t need it to continue doing her charity work,” @VeroniqueKambaG opined.
Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II was praised for banning Prince Harry and Markle from using the “Sussex Royal” brand. For them, it was the right thing to do because the Sussexes are no longer working royal and if they continue to use the brand, they would be monetizing the monarchy.
