Although Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are legally single, the stars have six children together. The former couple shares Maddox, 18, Pax, 16, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 11. While Pitt is the biological father to the three youngest children, the older kids are adopted.
Jolie adopted Maddox before she began a relationship with Pitt. Following the couple’s split in 2016, Maddox reportedly supported his mother, and his relationship with Pitt became strained.
According to Us Weekly, the father and son are still at odds and are no longer on speaking terms. A source revealed that Pitt didn’t visit Maddox, who is enrolled at Yonsei University, while he was traveling overseas earlier this month.
“Brad didn’t try to see Maddox. There’s been no contact between them,” the insider revealed.
Although their relationship became strained after his split with Jolie, Pitt reportedly hopes they can reconnect in the future. “Brad’s hopeful that as soon as his son gets older, they’ll become close again,” the source revealed.
For now, Pitt is focused on his relationship with Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox. Since the older children have kept their distance, the 55-year-old is expected to spend Christmas Eve with his three youngest kids.
“Last year, Zahara spent a few hours with him, but he’s not expecting her this year. Brad no longer pushes for Maddox, Pax or Zahara to come. He knows it makes everyone uncomfortable. He’s decided not to force it because they’ve already been through so much,” an insider revealed.
Following Pitt and Jolie’s divorce, the exes were in a bitter custody battle. Although a judge allowed Pitt to spend more time with his kids, it appears he will have to rebuild his bond with his older children if he wants to be in their lives.
