Ahluwalia Studio by designer Priya Ahluwalia is somewhat of a rarity in the streetwear scene, with the brand produced primarily out of recycled materials in order to serve as a responsibly-sourced option as the industry targets sustainability. For Fall/Winter 2019, Ahluwalia’s handcrafted aesthetic comes through strongly in the form of several patchwork pieces, which makes its way onto classics such as track pants, sweaters and button-up shirts.
The Overstitch Patchwork Track Pants and Sweater bring an eco-friendly take to the traditional track suit, featuring materials such as reclaimed cotton and reclaimed polyester. Both the top and bottom are offered in shades of blue for a sporty look and constructed with a paneled design that showcases various logos. The pants are made with two pockets and a drawstring waist, while the top comes with a half-placket zip to round out the details.
Elsewhere, Ahluwalia has provided a more vibrant option by way of its Patchwork Long Sleeve Shirt in beige. The style is made of reclaimed printed silk and polyester blends, and features an ornate baroque-inspired pattern. Like the track wear, each version of the garment represents a one-of-a-kind piece for a truly personal touch.
