Two 10-year-old girls from California having a slumber party “fought off” a naked creep who sneaked in through a window and tried to sexually assault them, cops said.
“I would like to commend these young ladies,” explained Fresno Police Chief Matt Basgall at a press conference Thursday. “They did everything right.”
Timothy Jay Picard, 26, allegedly broke into the home where the girls were staying — located in the city of Clovis — last Sunday at around 12:31 a.m., according to officials.
He set upon the youths while they were sleeping and tried “touching them inappropriately,” cops said.
“The juveniles awoke…and fought him off,” police alleged in a press release, noting how Pichard — who was naked — fled back out the window he came through. “The juveniles alerted adults in the home who contacted 911.”
Picard, who is from Fresno, was arrested Wednesday following an investigation.
Cops said they interviewed “several witnesses” and gathered evidence that placed him at the scene. He was charged with committing lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under 14, first-degree burglary and violating probation.
According to police, Picard had already been thrown behind bars once before — in 2017 — for stalking and burglary.
“The fact that this guy is on probation for doing something similar, it kind makes your blood boil,” Basgall said.
